Access For Users With Disabilities

Assistive Technology

Assistive Technology is a device or a computer-based accommodation that provides equitable access to programs and print or online resources for persons with disabilities. Most of the Library's assistive technology is available for use at the Main Library.

Assistive listening devices (including meeting rooms outfitted with listening systems)
Book holders (also at Branch Libraries)
Braille and Speak device for in-library note-taking and text transcribing
Braille display and embosser (printer)
Braille signs
CCTVs (closed-circuit televisions)
Computer workstations with screen magnification and voice output/screen readers + printers
Magnifiers, hand-held
Reading machines that scan printed materials and read them aloud
Talking books/Audio books
Talking calculators
Talking dictionaries
Talking elevators
Talking public access catalogs with voice output and screen magnification
Talking sign receivers
Text telephones (TTYs)
